Criteria C
Criteria C
The aim of my sprite is to show a sign of road safety and how not paying attention on the road can lead to car accidents. In this scratch program I give an example in two scenes. These scenes include a night city where two cars crash and the second scene includes an ambulance coming and taking the patients to the hospital. I added voice recording to add mini sound effects to reflect on the scene happening. I came up with this scratch idea for my developing ideas on road safety step by step. I found making the scratch a little difficult since I wasn't sure about the scripts but it turned out to work.
Scripts:
Sprite1- Punch Buggy Green Car
Sprite2 - Blue Car
Sprite3 - Ambulance
Stage1 - Night City
Stage2 - Hospital

Term 1
Introduction:
I am a year 9 student at Emirates International School
Meadows. This term in Digital Design, I am going to learn about programming
with scratch. My Digital Design teacher, who will be teaching me about this
subject is Ms.Enoch. I enjoy playing netball in school, with a team, as a
sport. I also love hanging out with my friends every weekend because it is fun.
MYP Design:
In the last few years in MYP Design, I've learned about a lot of programs on such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher etc. This year in MYP Design we will be learning about programming with scratch. I think this topic will also help us improve our knowledge on using the programs we have been working on in the past few years.
Criteria:
Design Cycle:

Statement of Inquiry:
Creative computing and design based learning involves creativity, computing, personalizing and collaborating that has evolved through time and space to influence audience's perspective.
Key Concept:
Development
Related Concept:
Innovation and Perspective
ATL Skills:
Thinking - Creative Thinking & Transfer
Research - Information Literacy
Global Context:
Personal & Cultural Expression
Target Setting Template:
What kind of leaner am I?
I am the best learner when there is Kin-aesthetic work because I know what I'm talking about. I'm not that good at reading and writing because when i do that sort of work i most of the time don't know how to put it in my own words. I can do auditory work however I don't see it as my best satisfied area. I can work with visual's most of the time since the information is right there and I most of the time just have to explain myself.

Maze:
This was my second scratch I made. It is a maze where the sprite has to find it's way out. I found it easier as I had somewhat some experience of the options that could be used. I still found it a bit difficult and needed help from my peers.

Background:
The purpose of this of this scratch was to change places from one to another with your sprite. I found this a little difficult as I wasn't sure how to put the options to the sprite changing backgrounds but I kind of got it towards the end.
Text/Speech:
The text/speech was the easiest for me. I found it easy to add text and control when to say it. The color coding to sense when to say what was simple and wasn't too complicated for me. I used bananas since it was simple for an example. As you move the mouse it will be self explanatory. I did this by adding a censoring motion to a specific part of the the bananas.
Criteria A:
Identify a Design Situation: Strand 1
Road safety is a major problem in today’s world. It has
become more and more common and has injured many people. People drive on main
roads, streets, high ways etc. every day and a lot of them are driving over
speed limit or below or have crashed into something. This is a problem for a
lot of people. The person who was in the car accident or the person that maybe
owned something that was damaged. Sometimes when people are crossing the road
and a car is coming at speed, that person has lost his life and that’s a
problem for the victim’s family and the person who caused the accident himself.
This is mostly when the person wasn’t using zebra crossing. For the person in
the car to not get hurt, you could wear a seat-belt and that will keep you 100
times for safe. This problem occurs on main roads, highway/motorways streets.
The cause to wearing a seat belt is because it’s a smaller risk at taking away
your own life.
Strand 2:
Me: Good Afternoon Mr.CBS
Mr. CBS: Good Afternoon
Me: I brought you here today to ask you a few questions on road safety. In this case, it gives me a better understanding of how others see road safety and especially vehicle accidents. I am going to show this as an example in a school project. So...
1) Do you drive?

2) Do you wear your seat belt at all times?

3) Do you wear your seat belt in the back?

4) Have you ever been in any road accident? If you don't mind, can you explain your experience?

5) Do you see road safety differently after your accident and how?

SWOT Analysis:
Design Brief:
People over 18 nowadays all have driving licences, and if not, they're sitting in the passengers seat. The main purpose of my project is to make a scratch program of how not wearing your seat belt can lead to a car accident, then to a major injury. I am going to make the scratch interesting and very eye-catching so my audience can be attracted and learn something from my project.
